Always had a very good brunch there before the lockdown! ??

We were there again and were really shocked how bad the hygiene on site was. Tables are only wiped with a cloth, not even disinfected, and the chairs are not cleaned at all. And that in the Corona time. In addition, the drinks were simply not tasty at all. It's a shame that such restaurateurs work like that.

Love to eat or drink something with friends at Alex's. Always like to come back and recommend it to everyone ☺️

Breakfast was great for me. Everything I like there. The staff was very attentive and permanently cleared away and the buffet was always refilled.

Wanted to have breakfast at Alex and called in advance (8:45 am) if you might have to reserve in advance ..... Just come by, a reservation would not be necessary ... But that's not true ... As I noticed 30 minutes later at the door ... The employee's comment was that without a reservation she would have no more space ..... Great shop ....

Super nice service and a perfect breakfast buffet embellished the start of the day. Super responsive to wishes and needs. Also highly recommended with toddlers. We would love to come back.

The central restaurant from there is easy to reach Sea Life, Legoland, Star Kino (across the street), a corner restaurant with indoor and outdoor seats right on the promenade, with radiant heaters outside if it gets colder. Good family-friendly dining and drinking place. For cake lovers there is always something from "Grandma's bakery" e.g. Plum - apple - cheesecake large pieces of drinks from cocktails to cocoa, esspresso to milk coffee, everything is on offer and for the people of Cologne even Kölsch. The staff is very friendly and helpful, everyone is approachable if something is missing at the table or should be reordered.

All you can eat buffet. Were there for breakfast. Relatively expensive. Further away to the buffet. Drinks were also quite expensive. Maybe because of the location in the Centro. Clean restaurant, friendly staff.

Today we had a short break in Oberhausen after a long drive, because of a friend's recommendation we went to ALEX. The first thing that struck me was the really cozy ambience, I particularly liked the inviting colors, it hadn't promised too much. The food was excellent, there really is nothing to complain about. Another positive thing to be mentioned is the really very attentive service with blond hair. She greeted us warmly and we felt at home :) I still remember her beautiful smile until now. If we are in the area again, we will definitely come back :))

You can really tell that our operator likes to do his job and, above all, with passion. He was very friendly and always helpful. And on top of that it was really delicious! Gladly again and again ?

Really great food at a fair price. Fantastic atmosphere (except for them having to follow the pointless covid rules). Menu is available in English. No reservations, usually a short but worthwhile wait.

Delicious food, both evening (schnitzel) and during the day (brunch). Welcoming, clean, friendly staff and just really good food !!

I love it there. Price-performance ratio perfectly fine. One of my favorite restaurants. On some days you have to wait a little longer. Otherwise waiter, atmosphere great.

Update 2020: The menu is only available on mobile. Unreadable for some users. Some of the staff was very unfriendly. Definitely not going back the first couple years. 2014: The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We are definitely going to lunch again at Alex when we are again Centro Oberhausen.

This is not the first time we are in Alex actually...But for sure the worst of the experience in terms of service...had to wait around 35 mins for the server to arrive at the table and additional 10 mins for the drinks...Not even a simple greeting from anyone or any info about waiting was not given when we ver seated...Came in for dinner but had to just settle down with drinks as didn't wanna wait for food any longer...Have seen waiters talking to the adjoining table for 20min completely ignoring the fact that there are other tables too.... Need to improve on the timelyness of the service which could solve the major issues in the restaurant. Besides that the lemonades were really nice in taste.

Outgoing from hotel before the departure, this place is restful during the sun shining and the breakfast.

Good place with great ambience. Good shopping centre and also have lots of multiculinary restaurants. There is also a water park and camping ground nearby. Great weekend destination for families with children and also with friends.

Wonderful food, prompt service, nice indoor and outdoor seating, halal options, reasonable prices for good quality, fancy drinks to have whilst enjoying the lovely views of the waterside promenade. Great place to eat after a day of shopping, I'd definitely recommend you eat here ?

Liked the food here and was surprised to find a Indian dish on their menu.

A very large cafe with just as much choice. Great for a brunch. The ambiance is appealing and the staff is very friendly. The coffee and the food taste good and have good quality.

Nice place to be when its called. The place is designed to me warm. The food is good and great collection of wines.

The shop is damn big and accordingly the background noise. If you are looking for something quiet, you are better off somewhere else. I found it comfortable and liked the hustle and bustle everywhere there was something to look at. The waffles were really delicious. I would go back here.
